Beyond the ridge lies a deep gorge, Š spanned by a sturdy rope bridge. The floor of the Š bridge is laid with shorn timbers that are wide Š enough to allow a wagon to pass. You ride onto the Š bridge and you are half way across when its timber Š floor begins to sway violently. Quickly you dismount Š and use your Kai disciplines of animal control to Š calm your startled horse. There seems to be no reason Š for the bridge to be pitching back and forth, but Š when you look over the side you catch sight of a rope Š that is attached to its underside. This line descends Š to a crevice in the wall of the gorge and it is being Š repeatedly pulled taut and then released. From out of Š the crevice there issues a commanding voice: "ιThrow Š your money and possessions into the gorge!ι" When you Š hesitate to obey, the voice says: "ιDo it now, or Š you'll never get off the bridge alive!ι" If you possess Kai-alchemy, and wish to use it, turn Š to β332β If you possess Elementalism, and wish to use it, turn Š to β251β If you possess Magi-magic, and wish to use it, turn Š to β34β If you possess none of these skills, or if you choose Š not to use any of them, turn to β140β
