Quickly it Š becomes clear to you that if you force them to resist Š the city watch, you will be condemning them to Š needless injury or death. Wary of this, you attempt Š to lure the Shadakine soldiers away into one of the Š houses. Unfortunately, your brave effort is short- Š lived. The city guard see you, pursue you, and Š quickly overpower you by their sheer weight of Š numbers: lose 3 ENDURANCE points. Once you have been effectively subdued, the city Š watch round up the Suhnese and guard you all at Š spear-point until two horse-drawn wagons arrive to Š take you away to the city gaol. As you are herded Š aboard these foul-smelling carriages, your weapons, Š Kai Weapon, and backpack items are confiscated and Š dumped into a wooden crate beside the driver's seat. Š (On your ιAction Chartι mark each of these items with Š an asterisk [*] to indicate that they are no longer Š in your possession, but do not erase them at this Š time. Any Special Items you possess are allowed to Š remain with you.) At the officer's command the wagons move off at a Š speedy pace. After a few bruising minutes your wagon Š emerges from the gloomy streets and ascends a smooth Š ramp which passes through the daunting gate of Ghol- Š Tabras gaol. Above this gate flutters a flag which Š depicts a black serpent entwined around the blade of Š a silver scimitar. It is the personal emblem of Š Sesketera, the ruler of this city, a man not known Š for his kindness nor his mercy. Turn to β265β
