+ You drop to the street beyond and follow it to a \r\8a tree-lined plaza which is bordered by shops that sell \r\8a rare artifacts and expensive works of art. Their \r\8a windows and doors are securely barred and shuttered \r\8a and show no signs of a forced entry. Then your eye is \r\8a drawn to a grand building on the far side of the \r\8a plaza: it is a temple. Its great stone door is \r\8a closed, but a smaller wooden door at the side has \r\8a been torn off its hinges. You magnify your vision and \r\8a see that beyond the door are a flight of stone steps \r\8a which ascend to a belltower.\r

+ Cautiously you approach the shattered door. You \r\8a unsheathe your weapon and scan the darkened stairs \r\8a before silently you move up the steps. You have \r\8a climbed twenty steps when suddenly you hear a hideous \r\8a snickering growl and an icy chill runs the length of \r\8a your spine. There is an ominous creak of stone on \r\8a stone and a movement in the darkness above, then a \r\8a crashing fills your ears. Out of the darkness you see \r\8a a great marble statue come smashing down the narrow \r\8a stairway. It rapidly gathers speed as it tumbles end \r\8a over end towards you.\r
