+ Tzai's house is located in the centre of the city, \r\8a opposite the main market square and its municipal \r\8a buildings. It is a large dwelling and much of it is a \r\8a warehouse given over to the storage of his goods. You \r\8a are greeted by his family and he takes great delight \r\8a in introducing them to you. You meet his brother \r\8a Chinn, his wife Tuvei, his two teenage daughters \r\8a Leadu and Leiga, and his young son Undai. His wife \r\8a and children seem very pleased to have you staying as \r\8a a guest, but his brother Chinn views you with \r\8a suspicion. You can tell from his cold reaction that \r\8a he does not think very highly of foreigners.\r

+ Later you share supper with the family and you tell \r\8a Tzai that tomorrow you will look for Captain \r\8a Leonghi's cousin, Gemulkin. You hand him the scroll \r\8a that the Captain gave you and he passes it to his \r\8a brother. He says that Chinn has many friends at the \r\8a dock and he asks his brother if he recognises the \r\8a name. Chinn shakes his head tersely and barely \r\8a glances at the scroll before handing it back. He then \r\8a leaves the table and goes to his room. As you watch \r\8a him leave, your sixth sense tells you that he knows \r\8a Gemulkin very well. \r

+ After supper, Tzai invites you on a tour of his \r\8a warehouse. While you are looking at the hundreds of \r\8a fascinating items that he sells, you suddenly hear \r\8a shouting coming from outside in the main market \r\8a square. A noisy mob have gathered to denounce \r\8a Dhanchai, the city's mayor. They are demanding that \r\8a Koogha, a former Shadakine warlord, be returned to \r\8a power. The city militia arrive to disperse this \r\8a unruly crowd, but a struggle breaks out and soon the \r\8a two sides are fighting openly in the square. Suddenly \r\8a the warehouse door burst open and a dozen men armed \r\8a with knives and clubs begin to loot the shelves. Then \r\8a Chinn comes running through from the house, alerted \r\8a by the noise. He is armed with a stave with which he \r\8a attacks the looters. One of them knocks it from his \r\8a hand and another grabs him from behind and pins his \r\8a arms to his side. Tzai screams as a third looter \r\8a advances towards his helpless brother with a knife in \r\8a his hand.\r
