+       as it crosses the jade green waters of the Gulf of \r\8a   Tentarium. It is shortly before noon of the following \r\8a        day when the first glimpse of Zharloum is sighted by \r\8a the lookout, and less than an hour later you find \r\8a    yourself sailing into the harbour of this grand city. \r\8a        Emerald pennants flutter from the towers and roofs of \r\8a        its sun-bleached houses, and crowds of industrious \r\8a   citizens throng its paved avenues and alleyways. This \r\8a        old Shadakine port has a long history of free and \r\8a    fair trading. It is many miles from the cities of \r\8a    Shadakine political power which lie to the south, and \r\8a        due to this fortunate fact it has been spared much of \r\8a        the damage wrought upon this troubled land by a \r\8a      succession of ruthless and tyrannical rulers.\r

+       The ship enters and docks at the harbour wall, close \r\8a to the jetty of a warehouse which contains the iron \r\8a  and copper ingots that it will carry to Suhn. As the \r\8a crew begin the task of loading the cargo aboard, you \r\8a decide to go and explore this thriving city. But \r\8a     after little more than an hour the heat, hustle, and \r\8a noise of the crowded streets becomes oppressive and \r\8a  you find yourself yearning for somewhere quiet to \r\8a    rest before you return to the ship. Looking around, \r\8a  you notice two places which offer the promise of some \r\8a        respite from the teeming crowds. The first is a \r\8a      public park which stands upon a cliff that looms \r\8a     above the city to the east of the harbour wall. The \r\8a  second is a narrow deserted alley that wends its way \r\8a into the city's Old Quarter.\r
