  11         The smooth surface of the tower wall proves to be a \r\8a  minor obstruction to someone of your ability and you \r\8a ascend effortlessly, like a spider, towards the \r\8a      second storey window. On reaching the window you pull \r\8a        yourself through the open frame and drop down onto \r\8a   the steps of a stone stairway beyond. This circular \r\8a  staircase leads to the top of the tower which \r\8a        commands a magnificent view of the city. Aided by \r\8a    your night vision, you are able to locate stables \r\8a    less than a mile to the north of the tower. You \r\8a      commit their location to memory and then hurriedly \r\8a   you descend the stairs and return to the window. Once \r\8a        more you use your climbing skills, this time to make \r\8a a speedy descent to the street below. \r

  13         Prince Karvas is delighted to hear that there are \r\8a    stables in the city, and he insists that you set off \r\8a for them at once. He is leading the way out of the \r\8a   warehouse ruins when suddenly the tower bell begins \r\8a  to toll once more. Moments later, the temple doors \r\8a   swing open and the procession of black-clad figures \r\8a  file out into the street. Instinctively you take hold \r\8a        of Karvas by the arm and pull him back into the ruins \r\8a        to avoid being seen by the emerging soldiers. As they \r\8a        pass by, you peer around the edge of the mouldering \r\8a  warehouse doorway to watch them. A strange feeling of \r\8a        unease makes the skin on the back of your neck \r\8a       prickle, and immediately you sense that all is not \r\8a   what it seems. When you magnify your vision to take a \r\8a        closer look at the passing figures, you gasp with \r
